As a social scientist with expertise in quantitative research methods, her research focuses on improving student equity and implementing effective school practices to improve student learning. Ryoko holds teaching certifications in Special Education (Learning Disabilities and Emotional / Behavioral Disorder) and has taught K-12 students in psychiatric, residential, and public settings. Ryoko founded Plus Alpha to bridge the gap between research, practice, and policy so that education systems can meet the needs of all students and families.
